Our mission
To empower marketers to prove impact and eliminate advertising waste, through cross-media data that's accurate and effortless.
Elevate has illuminated the digital marketing world since 2018, transforming from a small team of passionate marketers to a globally distributed creative force.
It's the one question every marketer gets — and the one measurement could never answer honestly. We built Beatgrid to change that.
Run one campaign across TV, CTV, digital, audio and out-of-home, and you get a different number from a different panel for each. None of them measured the same people — so none of them can tell you which channel actually worked.
Beatgrid was founded in 2014 by Leon van Zantvoort and Daniel Tjondronegoro, building audio content-recognition (ACR) technology precise enough to identify a track inside a live DJ set — through the pitch and tempo shifts that break ordinary recognition. That's where the name comes from.
The 2016 Rio Olympics made the application obvious. Audiences had fragmented faster than measurement could follow. The same precision that can hear one track inside a live mix can observe what a real person was actually exposed to, across every channel.
AI is already planning and buying media. A model is only as good as the ground truth it learns from — and most measurement feeds it estimates.
Estimated data doesn't just produce a wrong report. It trains a system to keep making the same wrong decision, faster, at scale.
Beatgrid supplies observed, person-level exposure: single-source, deterministic, privacy-first. That's the input layer the next era of media planning gets built on.

To empower marketers to prove impact and eliminate advertising waste, through cross-media data that's accurate and effortless.
To be the world's most trusted and accessible source of advertising truth.

Each market maintains a demographically representative panel and uses the same methodology. When a global client runs across markets, the data connects — same approach, comparable results.
Beatgrid is an independent cross-media measurement company. It measures real advertising exposure across channels on a single opt-in panel, giving advertisers, agencies and publishers deduplicated reach, frequency and campaign impact observed on the same people — not modelled or stitched from separate data sets.
Beatgrid was founded in 2014 by Daniel Tjondronegoro and Leon van Zantvoort and is headquartered in The Hague, Netherlands. The company started in content-recognition technology and moved into cross-media advertising measurement in 2016, based on its content-recognition technology platform, which evolved for passive metering on mobile devices. It now runs single-source panels in six markets: the US, UK, Australia, Germany, Canada and India.
Beatgrid uses a single-source panel and passive content-recognition technology to detect real ad exposure across channels: e.g. linear TV, CTV, YouTube, Social Video, digital, audio, OOH. Because the same people are measured across every channel, reach and frequency are deduplicated by default rather than combined after the fact.
Beatgrid observes real human ad exposure and behaviour to track what actually happened instead of modelling what probably did. Most cross-media measurement blends separate panels and estimates the overlap; Beatgrid measures every channel on one single-source panel, so its reach, frequency and outcome data are deterministic and deduplicated by design.
Single-source measurement means one panel of real people is measured across every channel, rather than merging different panels per channel. Beatgrid uses this approach so cross-media reach and frequency reflect the same individuals, eliminating the population mismatches that make multi-sourced, siloed measurement unreliable.
ACR (automatic content recognition) identifies media content from its audio signal. Beatgrid's technology originated in recognising tracks inside live DJ sets, through pitch and tempo changes that defeat ordinary audio recognition. Through this innovation, it can apply that same precision to passively detect which ads a panellist is genuinely exposed to, via a smartphone microphone, without any significant battery usage.
Beatgrid operates on a fully opt-in, consented panel and complies with GDPR and applicable privacy regulations. Exposure is measured without exposing personal identity.
Beatgrid currently operates in six markets — the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Germany, Canada and India. Each runs a demographically representative panel on the same methodology, so results are comparable across markets for global campaigns. Expansion into new markets on request.
Beatgrid is used by advertisers, media agencies and publishers that need independent proof of media effectiveness — including Google, Amazon Ads, The Trade Desk, GroupM, Omnicom, McDonald's and many more. To date, Beatgrid has completed 650+ single-source cross-media studies, building a comprehensive cross-media human ground truth data infrastructure.
As AI systems begin to plan and buy media, they need reliable ground truth to learn from. Beatgrid provides observed, person-level exposure data — the kind of accurate input needed to calibrate AI media models, rather than modelled estimates used to train other models.
Every Beatgrid subscription includes a 30-day money-back guarantee. If the measurement quality doesn't match what you were promised, you get a full refund. No questions. No negotiation.
